Alumni Business Camp

The dates for the this years edition of Alumni Business Camp have been set.

It will take place from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th October 2013 in Brussels.

The application will open in June and until then we will be busy working on preparing great content.

During each ABC we the participants have a chance to present their business ideas and then vote for the ones they liked the most. Here is the winner of ABC 2013 award.

Apprentus is a social marketplace to list, discover and book unique classes and private teachers around the world.

The idea came from a personal need of one of the co-founders. When looking for a music teacher for his daughters, he discovered that the existing tools - flyers, classified ads, etc - were either too complicated or lacking information and trust.

Frustrated with this, we decided to create Apprentus.

During the closing session of ABC Barcelona, a discussion about the future of the event took place. ABC appears to fill in the gap of networking among alumni, specially when topics like entrepreneurship are concerned. In order to make the most of our alumni network and to prepare the next editions of ABC with better content quality, the idea of organising local ABC was brought up. These gathering would be smaller in participation and duration and would be more work oriented rather than networking, producing ideas that could be presented later on to ABC.

2013 is well on its way and so are we with preparing the 3rd edition of Alumni Business Camp.

For this edition we have chosen Brussels, the capital of EU and a city that has interesting business opportunities for us to explore.

The exact dates and other details about the event will follow in the coming weeks.

In this holiday season it is common to reflect on what has happend in, almost over, 2012. For us the most important was, appart from world not ending, the time we spent in Barcelona during this year's Alumni Business Camp. During ABC 2012 in Barcelona, we had the chance to visit Barcelona Activa, one of the city's most important centers for entrepreneurship. Mr. Marc Sans and Mrs. Arianna Fernardes, officers of Barcelona Activa, explained to us why Barcelona is the right place to start your new business and how can Barcelona Activa help you transform your idea into a viable business.

The 2nd edition of ABC is over. A lot of content, ideas and inspiration to process. Official report, videos and pictures should follow soon.

Until then good luck to all the entrepreneurs. Use the knowledge, feedback and contacts you got to build and improve your businesses.

During ABC Barcelona we will have a chance to visit the Fab Lab Barcelona. The Fab Lab Barcelona is one of the leading laboratories worldwide network of Fab Labs, a small scale production, and innovation, workshops on equipped with digital fabrication tools and technologies for the production of objects, prototypes, objects and electronics.

We are less then 2 weeks before the event and we have 50 amazing participants, 7 educational and 6 business idea presentations, 2 interesting visits, 3 workshops and an open space session. How will all that fit in just 2 and a half days?

We have officially chosen the dates for our second edition of Alumni Business Camp.

It will take place from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th October 2012 and as already announce it will be in Barcelona.

Now it is time to build a great content.
